At the invitation of the Klimt Foundation, renowned scholars from Austria and abroad will present the latest research findings on Gustav Klimt and fin-de-siècle Vienna in the Salon Gustav Klimt discourse format from March 2023. With a view to the well-known salon culture in Klimt's environment, the Klimt Foundation is taking up this tradition on the tenth anniversary of the non-profit private foundation and inviting visitors to a wide-ranging academic discourse. The first dates will focus on the artist's inspiring exchanges with Joseph Urban, Carl Moll, Carl Otto Czeschka and Josef Hoffmann.
The first event will take place on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, with the lecture Joseph Urban. Architect and Illustrator in Austria and America by Dr. Markus Kristan, former curator of the architecture collection at the Albertina, Vienna.

The following month's discourse is all about the all-designer Carl Otto Czeschka. Irene Pelka, research associate at the Institute of Art History at the University of Bonn, will explain Colored Moving Forms in Gustav Klimt's last creative phase and Carl Otto Czeschka's tapestry on One Thousand and One Nights on Wednesday, 31 May 2023.
Before a short summer break, the focus will be on the connection between the universal artist Josef Hoffmann and the painting genius Gustav Klimt on Monday, June 19, 2023. Dr. Rainald Franz, curator of the Glass & Ceramics Collection at the MAK - Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna, will introduce interested listeners in his lecture Paarlauf für die Wiener Moderne.
